About us

The Tree House Café is the vital, vibrant and welcoming hub around which lots of caring and connecting community activities take place.  We've been running the café for over 7 years and we truly feel loved and a valued part of the local life of Windsor.

The Café is run and supported by Windsor Baptist Church, and is a family friendly, fair trade and community focussed initiative where people can connect and support the many activities that we all feel passionate about.

At the Tree House you’ll find a happy and friendly space where families can bring their children to explore the well-equipped and imaginative play area and enjoy some of the best coffees, hot chocolate, and toasties that Windsor has to offer (as judged by our customers).

More than a café

We're more that just a café. We also work in partnership with other agencies and charities to offer enriching and supportive activities for the community. We work creatively with Blossoms Ballet, Rock Choir, Showstoppers, the Library, East Berkshire College, The Workers Education Association (WEA), Tree House Community Kitchen, Scruffy Soul, Open Mike, Community Police and  Street Angels as well as having an annual involvement in hosting and running events for the Windsor Fringe.

The Tree House Café works closely with the Windsor Homeless Project and runs a ‘suspended coffee’ scheme whereby customers can purchase a coffee for a future customer who cannot afford to pay.

Our team

The Tree House Café is run by a part time manager, an assistant manager and a team of wonderful volunteers from all walks of life. Their hard work and commitment are truly at the heart of what makes the Tree House Café such a special place to visit.

The Café is also successful at engaging people who are vulnerable, have lost confidence and need support to re-enter employment. In fact, our delicious coffee is supplied by Kingdom Coffee who provide our volunteers with free barista training as a means of giving them a step towards employment. We have had volunteers previously referred to us by Grow Our Own. We are on RBWM volunteering  opportunities website but do contact us directly if you are interested in giving us a couple of hours of your time each week.

We find that many of our volunteers develop confidence and new skill sets by learning how serve customers, create a perfect cup of coffee, and interact with others as colleagues. All of us find friendship and fun here.

Opening times

We normally are open terms times on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9.30 a.m. until 1.00 p.m.
